It isn't ignorant. You are blindsiding yourself again. Don't make yourself blind just because you don't agree with how somebody does something. These really are the only things that can help him. Reading to relate to other's experiences. Setting goals. Of course somebody who words things more empathetically might help comvince him to change his track a bit better but this guy is doing w.e he feels like doing over the internet. He doesn't have any obligation, he just set a path and he can choose to follow it or not.

This isn't out of ignorance lol.

oh be quiet you baby LOL you sound like a child. When people say this kind of thing I can only see them sayign it emotionally instead of rationally.

Do you have any clue what it's like to try and explain a problem to someone who truly believes they already know the answers?

Maybe people do know the answers and the only thing that can change it is you. It isn't like they can feed you a pill to change your mindset and personality. You either gotta force yourself to change or wallow in your misery.

Oh good, you had a personal experience with something, that means you know tons and tons about it because depression only ever works one way and is exactly the same for every depressed person and definitely doesn't have different degrees or anything.

Thank you again doctor.

When I said what I said I wasn't talking about my own experiences in comparison to his. He isn't the only one who suffers his issues and won't be the last. This is what I was speaking on. Your post just addressed depression in general so I responded properly.

Nobody helped me. I literally lost almost all my friends due to my period of depression due to lack of communication and other things.

I have changed a lot over time I've not attempted suicide in 10 years. But what you're not understanding is sometimes shits not as easy as YEA LETS CHANGE THIS! Some times shit don't work out no matter how you go at it. Like I said earlier you don't know shit about my life it's not like I'm doing fine and just being a little bitch no I can't afford to live on my own even when I was working I can't afford to eat every day I go to bed at night wondering if I'm gonna have a seizure when I wake up trust me I'd absolutely love to be OK and be able to handle this shit but the fact of the matter is life has beaten the fuck out of me and I'm getting to the point I can't handle any more

2. Adapt:

The best way to keep the status quo intact is to make sure that individuals adjust themselves to serve its needs. Such adaptation once was enforced by crude, authoritarian methods of "re-education." Today this is hardly necessary. A wealth of advice is available on how to become successful - what to wear, how to negotiate, and so forth - and virtually all of it proceeds from the premise that you should adjust yourself to conditions as you find them. Adaptation is a critical part of the self-help model: you must succeed within the institutions and according to the rules that already exist. To do well is to fit in, and to fit in is to fortify the structures into which you are being fit.
