It's not everywhere in the States - lots of places on the east coast where dudes will still stand up, at least. Alas, I'm here in California where everyone's a wilting violet. Just had some dude get out of the car on me because he didn't like how I was driving in his neighborhood, and he immediately jumped right back in when I got out to join him. :( It's a crying shame, frankly.

Any average aussie pub on any average night will have 2-4 fist fights.
It is the way men sort out their differences, i have had drunken bareknuckle street fights with like three out of my four best friends.

If you haven't had a beer with someone who's punched you in the face within the last hour, you haven't really lived.

Seems fair. Honestly, I haven't actually been in a fight in my adult life as a result of being a Californian. Goddess knows I've had cause to pick more than one fight and still haven't managed to get the other guy to swing. Hell, once I even forced my way into a guy's front door and slapped him like a hysterical woman in a 40s movie in his entryway and he still just stood there. :(

A few weeks ago my dog was beating up some other punk dog at the dog park who tried to mount him and his owner tried to kick jax, so i punched him in the face, then he and his dog got in the car and drove off screeching the tires of his pissant truck, was pretty satisfying.
But yeah its been like three and a half weeks here.
Generally if you an aussie bloke with any kind of social life you have probably punched some one recently.
I have no doubt devil has punched at least some one this past week.

All these special snowflakes saying apologise make me sick.

He fucking gave the guy a friendly tap in a pub, the home of banter and fgts scream "omg can't believe you invaded his space".

Get a grip.

I've known this guy at work for like 5 weeks who seemed really nice and a funny character, and after work at the pub there were about 10 of us having a few pints. After we'd been at the pub for a few hours, I came back from getting another drink and saw him bent over a chair listening in to a conversation, and I could see his bare back as his shirt was pulled up a bit.

So as I came over I gave him a little slap on his back and said 'what's up mate?' as a greeting. He then said 'if you do that again ill knock you out'. Then I laughed because I thought he was joking, but his facial expression was serious. So then I said 'wait, are you actually serious?', and he said 'yeah'. I said 'oooook', walked off and kinda forgot about it because I was drunk.

This week at work he sat on his own at lunch when there were seats free next to me, when previously we'd have lunch together. Not sure what to do really, but I personally think he overreacted big time and I don't really feel like apologising or talking to him
