Don't try to analyze their thinking it's a pointless endeavor.
What you have to do is:
- Take control of most situations, that's what women want - someone that can look after them, for the most part anyway.
So that might mean asking them to dinner, lunch, coffee or whatever you enjoy doing in a relaxed environment (without any doubt that they will agree, if they are consistently saying they don't have time or aren't interested then go onto someone else). Or lets go for a roadtrip, or go camping or whatever - find out what is comfortable and that they enjoy doing.
- Give them space, if they think your whole life is around talking to them they will see that you are needy and have no life. What you need to have is things that you do on a regular basis so that you have legitimate reasons for not being able to spend time with them.
- Be generous, whether it's occasionally paying for their share or getting them gifts - this will help a lot with showing that you are serious. If you aren't serious, well, buy them drinks at a bar and enjoy your one night stand.
- Talk about personal stuff and ask them questions, so long as they are comfortable.
That list is in no way comprehensive but should help you start the process of going out with girls.
That's the thing isn't it? People just give me advice day in and day out. You do know that it isn't going to work right? I'm talking about women here. It is a pointless endeavor.
There is nothing more that I can possibly do. It is now at the point where I do not think I am unworthy of them but due to girls' lack of logic perhaps they are unworthy of me.
