I'm actually kind of surprised at some of you people. Even if there was a 100% chance you would have never even known of that person's existence, you would willingly kill someone for your own personal gain?
My morals really aren't that strong, but would I kill someone for profit? No.
agreed.

I forgot to explain that the killing is 50/50 chanse, so either the kid dies, or Hitler.
Is it worth a try?
It all depends on the context of your question, and how adversely it would effect the past/present/future.
However to some people, if it was 50/50, the kids life might be worth taking (pressing the button twice to insure you killed Hitler).
I would not do it =\ but im taking into consideration the effects on history and also the fact that pressing that button is still what hitler and the nazis wanted you to do.
If you hit it, you're as weak as those nazis that just "did it cuz they were told".
You could even change it up and say, I could hit the button when i'm 8, and in 10 years someone random would die, and i would magically have 1mil in my bank -i still wouldn't do it... no matter how removed you make me from the question.
I'm just trying to say, in an ideal world, NO moral or ethical person press this button. You wouldn't press it because you don't want to kill me; I wouldn't press it because I wouldn't want to kill you.
Yes i read some of the early posts, but there's no justifying murder by saying, Cigarrette companies do it so why can't I? The difference is that the people who choose to smoke put themselves at risk willingly.
If no one pressed the button, there's a 0% chance of added death count to this world. You could extrapolate it however large you want.. even if the odds are 1:6trillion, you press that button...
one person is dead.

Actions you take everyday have the potential to unknowingly kill someone, think about that.
Perhaps, but most would not knowingly take actions that would kill someone. If you did know, it would be my hope that you would changed what you were doing.
Yes, bullet makers make bullets, but they don't go out and just kill people. You're basically saying that since we're all indirectly influencing each other, we should all just kill because its going to happen anyway?
I usually think a lot of the stuff you say is funny Futuristic, but I think you're wrong and messed up in the head for what you think about this topic/question.
