The left to right is not true... Am I wrong? Multiplication should be done before division, therefore one cannot solve this from left to right until it is done with PEMDAS.

According to Wikipedia, but not what I remember from school, I am wrong. It should be 6/2*3 and read left to right?

It's because people don't know how PEMDAS/BEDMAS work rofl. They think you have to do the multiplication before the division.

I forgot this. I must have been wrong all along. This calls for "insert hurtful words here".

If one goes by PEMDAS, then the multiplication is done first. I was taught this, but I just now read that I was taught wrong! Wikipedia explained, "Mnemonics are often used to help students remember the rules, but the rules taught by the use of acronyms can be misleading. In the United States the acronym PEMDAS is common. It stands for Parentheses, Exponents, Multiplication, Division, Addition, Subtraction. If PEMDAS is followed without remembering that multiplication and division have the same weight, and addition and subtraction have the same weight. Doing multiplication before division, can give the wrong answer. So can doing addition before subtraction. Some grade school books teach this incorrectly. For example: 6÷2×3 = 9, not 1. 6-2+3 = 7, not 1."
I was taught wrong...

it's 9. wolfram told me so. wolfram is never wrong.

The standard order of operations, or precedence, is expressed here:

terms inside parenthesis
exponents and roots
multiplication and division
addition and subtraction
