people go for about 1-1.5g of protein per pound of lean bodyweight, meaning if you are a lean 160lbs to eat 160g-240g protein a day. A lot of people prefer the method of lean bulk so only eating 300-500 calories above your maintenance to remain lean rather than a 1k+ calorie surplus that will add more fat to your body in the process.
