I'm adding the parentheses because you're too thick to realize that you're interpreting it wrong. The equation in the title is only interpreted as (6/2)*(1+2). You first do the 6/2, then you multiply that by the 1+2. The only way you can get 1 is if you interpret the division symbol as a fraction bar, which it isn't.
No, you think you make it more simple by adding a parentheses but in fact, you're changing the whole equation.
By adding your parantheses you first divide 6/2 which equals 3 and then (1+2) which is why you get 3x3 = 9
However, that's not how you interpret it, like I said, it's already showed on a picture at page 65 (post #648) how to really interpret it.
It's:
