DM-multiply or divide (left to right)
AS-add subtract (left to right)

You don't always do the division then the multiplication, you do whichever comes first.

people are interpretating this all wrong

the equation is write 6/2(1+2) which is equal to 9

people who are getting 1 can only get 1 if the equation was written as 6/(2(1+2))

also with PEMDAS can also be written as PEDMSA

No. Both equations are 1. The extra pair of parentheses could be taken away from the top one you posted and it would be the same as the bottom one.
