You're wrong, you added a parentheses that wasn't there to begin with, therefore you are the one interpreting it wrong.

I'm adding the parentheses because you're too thick to realize that you're interpreting it wrong. The equation in the title is only interpreted as (6/2)*(1+2). You first do the 6/2, then you multiply that by the 1+2. The only way you can get 1 is if you interpret the division symbol as a fraction bar, which it isn't.

You are being obtuse. You cannot add those parentheses there without changing the outcome.

What? I do not know where you are getting 3*3 unless you do (6÷2)(1+2), but this is not how the equation was originally written creating a different outcome.

EXACTLY. People are adding their own parentheses and complaining that we don't know how to use pemdas. Never have I seen so much fail in one thread.

The answer is 1 and can only be 1, and it can only ever be 9 if you add a parentheses, but then it's not the same equation anymore. Get a fucking clue. Yes imad.

are you arguing for the sake of arguing dude? like serious? i just explained pemdas to you.. YOU need to learn it.. the first fuckin thing you do is solve the parenth.. ignore everything else...so 1+2 = 3
so.. you now have 6/2(3).. NEXT because there is no exponents, you do 2*3 and get 6 so now you have 6/6=1... jesus fuck dude....did you eat paint chips as a kid?
