im still going to stick with no because if you can forget about something you had to have percieved it in the first place

Well let me clarify what you're saying so I can better understand it. You're saying: No, how can you forget about an event if you perceived the event in the first place.

What I am saying is: You can't perceive an event to be happening if you're going to forget about the event in its entirety.

I don't see why having the ability to forget an event means you can perceive it as happening in the present. Like what if I forget about the perception and the event, could I have perceived the event when it happened?

no i was saying if you can forget it (therefore being aware to it in the first place) you had to have percieved it at some point, so pretty much a yes to the third sentence

it seems english isnt your first language so im guessing what you are actually asking is a little lost in translation and im not adressing the right aspect, or i could be wrong entirely

All that exists is now, but our past and future are ever changing the now. With what I am saying the past is pretty important anyways.

Don't try to act like you understand philosophy. You obviously just read a few quotes and think you know some deep shit. You don't.

Lol English is my first language, but I'm pretty bad at explaining myself.

Have you ever seen a movie where a person's memory gets wiped? Like Paycheck or 50 First Dates?

yeah sure , but if i project on what i think your point is going to be i can say removing the memory of an event does not remove the event or original perception of it

the more i respond the more i feel like ive misunderstood the question from the beginning

Well I am saying it doesn't remove the event but to that person however much time was wiped feels like an instant. And I am saying the only reason it feels like an instant is because they didn't perceive [errr] [point of realization]

Here I am gonna hold that thought cause I see what you're saying and I might have to rethink what I mean. I'll get back to you.
