Yes, it is. The equation is read as:

(6/2)*(1+2), which obviously equals 9.



It's because people are interpreting it very badly. This isn't a fraction, this is an equation.

Brackets first. 1+2=3.
Then Divide second. 6/2 = 3.

Then Multiplication. 3(3) = 9?

If only people put this much care and effort into something useful.
