6                    6                    6
-----        =    ---------    =    --- = 1
2*(1+2)          2*1+2*2          6

That's how you would do that.

So you're saying the order of operations is wrong if you think this.

So many dumb people here it's unbelievable, just listen to yourselves thinking you're all right, it's quite pathetic.

6/2(1+2) (where 6/2 is a fraction -> 3 it's 3 * 3 = 9)

However, if it's meant as (written in topic title) you're supposed to divide it so it's:

6
----------  =  1
2 (1+2)

2 (1+2) is the same as 2*1 + 2*2 = 2 + 4 = 6

which would give us 6/6 = 1

No, it wouldn't. The way the equation is written is completely irrelevant. 6/2 and 6 divided by 2 are the same exact thing.

Because apparently some people can't do simple math.

This day in age you don't even have to do arithmetic half as simple as this. Hell, I've seen people pull out calculators for like 17 * 3.
Let them fall back on their crutches.

Look, I don't know your bedmas and whatever it is you're talking about. We don't use that here. But when you have a fraction, it's top divided by bottom, I'm sure we can both agree on that. And in that case, the answer is 1 and not 9.
