You wouldn't be asking "what" if you had read the rest of the post.
Make sure you stay in the "fat burning zone" for at least 30 minutes. Initially you are burning glycogen stored in your liver and muscles and you won't start burning fat until all of that is used up.
a common misconception is that the 'fat burning zone' burns more fat than working harder. This is untrue, sure of course while working in the 'fat burning zone' you burn more % fat than anything else.. but you're hardly burning anything at all. If you work harder, run uphill at maximum intensity for one hour for example, you are burning way more fat than an hour in the 'fat burning zone'.
example; 1 hour 'fat burning zone' is burning 50calories of carbs and 100 calories of fat so you are burning 100% more fat than carbs! wow way to go!!! fat burning zone burns 100% more fat than carbs amazing!!!
example: 1 hour running up hill max intensity; you are burning 800 calories of carbs and 400 calories of fat. oh no, you burn way less % fat than carbs, you only burn half as much % fat as carbs you fail...
NO YOU DON'T FAIL if you work harder you burn 4x the amount of fat! If you work near 80%-100% of your maximum intensity and effort, you win every fucking time as long as you are consistent with eating what your body needs and not eating shit slop garbage just because it tastes good.
in conclusion, 'fat burning zone' is some shit made up by fat lazy mother fuckers who don't want to work hard.
work hard or gtfo.. newbs
