But contempt with being ignorant.

Gf

Ignorance is bliss of course. But deliberate ignorance can no longer be called simply ignorance. It is more than that then. Ignorance can be excused as someone may not have had the opportunity to learn - but once the opportunity is given and refused then the lack of knowledge is laziness and stupidity.

oh and - content*

[QUOTE=Vivienne,Jun 23 2013 09:06pm]The Church has no particular political views. It accepts people from all walks of life. The current 'Black Pope' High Priest Peter Gilmore says -

“As has been said many times before, one’s politics are up to each individual member, and most of our members are political pragmatists. They support political candidates and movements whose goals reflect their own practical needs and desires. Our members span an amazing political spectrum, which includes but is not limited to: Libertarians, Liberals, Conservatives, Republicans, Democrats, Reform Party members, Independents, Capitalists, Socialists, Communists, Stalinists, Leninists, Trotskyites, Maoists, Zionists, Monarchists, Fascists, Anarchists, and just about anything else you could possibly imagine. It is up to each member to apply Satanism and determine what political means will reach his/her ends, and they are each solely responsible for this decision. Freedom and responsibility—must be a novel concept for those who aren’t Satanists. We take it in stride. Members who demand conformity from other members to their particular political fetish are welcomed to depart.”

Yep. I used to be a member of the British Church of Satan. I was an administrator and secretary there for 3 years from the age of 18-21. I'm now back to being a pretty militant atheist but sometimes I miss the old church. It was nice to get together sometimes and let all my frustration out and at some points in my life I still perform some of the old rituals as a part of releasing stress and pent up rage. It's a great way to release.

So ask me anything (on the subject of Satanism). I won't lie.

Yes. Our local Cabal included people from many walks of life, old and young, male and female. We had lawyers, councilmen and waiters and dustbin men. We honestly didnt discuss much about politics. Our get-togethers were more just rituals followed by parties with drinking and guitar and bongos, tambourines and songs around a campfire. We didn't talk about politics at any length as I recall.

I answered this earlier -

Quote (Vivienne @ 23 Jun 2013 19:34)
Because their philosophy no longer suited my beliefs. Two main points really-

1) Satanism is about the self.  It is about creating a world where you and your loved ones can be at peace. I believe all people are important and we should strive for the happiness of everyone and not just those we care about.

2) The church of Satan has said many times that it does not oppose other people's belief systems and that people should believe whatever they wish as long as it doesn't harm anyone else. I believe that the vast majority of religions are inherently harmful to scientific advancement and social evolution.
