It makes plenty sense. And yes it does, that's the whole point. There's two different ways of interpreting 6/2(1+2).

It is changing the equation, but with the way the question was wrote there really is no definite answer. No professor would ever write a terrible equation like this on an exam.

No, you can't. The only way to solve it is to start with 6, divide it by two, then multiply that quotient by the equation in the parentheses.

I'd say that it's one of two possible ways of interpreting 6/2(1+2)

Feel free to correct me, I may be wrong. But please do use an actual argument and not just "that's not right"
