tbh, I can understand this much. She wanted to get away from the situation for a minute and breathe, herself. Gather her thoughts and whatnot. You can't sit there right by her side when there's already paramedics there, it's not like anything you do or don't do is going to help.
Until you're watching a loved one potentially die in front of you, you can't really conceive of the thoughts that go through your head.
My dad said "Damnit" and then I made noise or something, and he told me to go away, so I waited at the top of the drive way until the ambulance came, and after that...
I really didn't know what to do, so, I went inside and went to my room, 'cause I didn't want to stand around getting in the way.
My Grandmother's here, three of my neighbors came by, my Aunt stopped by (she's staying the night).
My dad slept for 2 straight days in the chair in the living room, he started to walk around today in the garden.
My sister and brother have come over every day, but they don't want to spend the night (obviously).
