Though I guess at, "just a little guy," I'm still much larger than the dude who's about to have one planted on.

That guy's face was built to have cream licked off of it.

Excellent.  I enjoy mine similarly, just with tap instead of distilled.  I think it tastes weird with an ice cube.  The local tap water here is more neutral tasting than that of anywhere else I've tried.

Is there a cheap'ish (not $50+ .75L) less common brand you'd recommend?

Ice cubes dull tobacco and leather flavors which are common in a lot of nice scotches... it also intensifies the alcohol flavor.

If you don't mind a blended vs a single malt

Black Grouse, Isle of Sky, and Monkey shoulder are good

If you want a good cheap single malt.. go with

Glen moray elgin classic, Bowmore, and Glenmorangie (10 year)

All good and cheap.

Cold in general does, hence the Coors (and all those like beers) drink it ice cold mottoes.

No somewhat uncommon scotch brand recommendations? I enjoy it, and I've tried many/ most of the normal ones, but I'm a bit leery of branching into pricier bottles if they're just going to sit untouched in a cabinet.
