this was a trend yes, around 10 years ago. i have a fake sega genesis with preloaded games on an "everdrive"

It's nothing new, you're right, however it's a very smart, and easy way for Nintendo to make money. After all, they are a business, and businesses can't function without making money.
There is NOTHING wrong with the price point of this mini system. It's $2 a game and when NES games first came out, they were $50. Nintendo virtual console games, now those are expensive.
Yes, emulators are free, but it's also technically illegal. Casual people still don't even know what an emulator and/or not tech savvy.
