imo if u serious about defending yourself and unwilling to actually use the gun on an attacker threatening your life, you'd be better of spending the money on good quality self defense training

This is another reason I'm happy I have a shotgun for this shit - much, much easier to hit someone's legs.

What about a taser gun?

What's wrong with using the gun for sport. and using the taser for self defense.

You have to be in their immediate proximity to tase someone. What if it doesn't effectively immobilize them ? You don't want to half-ass personal protection

Different states are going to have slightly different laws and methods on purchasing a firearm.

You should research it or just go to your local gun store and talk to them

Edit: you should also look into your states laws regarding self defense and using a firearm
