Well, in my own opinion, I think the LGBT issues of today were mainly used as a proxy for actual political discussion, but then again, it at least brought some good to that community, in giving them rights. Funny thing though, despite hearing about Ru Paul ages upon ages ago, I've never actually looked into them.
