Well when I buy pink clothing, or pink sneakers.. I'm not trying to challenge anyone's senses, I just enjoy the color pink. Why should it matter if I have on white shoes, blue shoes, or pink shoes, why are people taking a second look at mine because "they're not use to seeing it". Pink is just a diluted color of red. Red is sometimes considered a color of power. White + Red, I would just consider pink a slightly less powerful color.

Society has conformed themselves to social norms that probably will not dissipate for a very long time.

As long as you like it and are comfortable in it that's all that matters. :p
I've got odd looks for the clothes I wear as well.

...my perception is that you are doing exactly that...that you want people to notice you...you want them to think " oh , look at him , he's different " .

And I will absolutely guarantee you this ...no one is concerned with the implied power statement of your shoes . Trust me on this !

When my mom use to take me shopping in Middleschool\Early highschool, I would only buy plain t-shirts. White, Black, Gray, Pink, Green, Purple, whatever. Just plain T-shirts. I wasn't trying to do anything but have clothes on my back, I wasn't trying to represent or show anything except wear clothes.

I'm still the same today, except I do like the certain look of colors on my body. My closet consists of diff shades of pink, diff shades of blue, gray, black, and white. If I don't wear a plain t-shirt, I wear a shirt with a sports team on it that I like. But the status quo is still the same. At the end of the day I'm just putting clothes on my back, because in society we're told we have to wear clothes out in public. I'm not trying to get anyone to notice me, I'm just conforming to certain norms of society.

...and I disagree . We ALL do things for the notice of others even if it's just good grooming or a new haircut or just making sure my socks are matched .

Buy some pink sneakers, rock them for 3 months and tell me the reactions\questions you get. Liking the color pink is a crime if you're male. You're assumed to be gay, or supporting breast cancer, true story.

I have pink shoes and a bunch of pink clothes. Haven't heard a damn thing about em except how awesome they are. Liking pink as a male is not a crime lol. You're assumed to be gay by the way you act, not by the colors you like or clothes you wear.

That is a bold assumption to say "we all" do that. The only reason I get hair cuts is because I hate grooming my hair each morning. I groom my hair because it feels weird if it's not groomed. If you constitute brushing your teeth as grooming, I don't brush so I have fresh breath around others. I brush my teeth because I like good dental hygiene. Bad dental health is bad for your heart. I also fucking despise getting my mouth drilled. Or insert other examples.

I'm not trying to impress, nor need to impress anyone when I go out. I'm not trying to "be noticed". I already have a soul mate, and they most likely wouldn't care if I never groomed myself again. It would be unpleasant not only for other people, but unpleasant for myself. It's an indirect cause, but grooming myself is defiantly for my own self worth, not the notice of others.

I wish I was born a woman, but I won't ever do an actual transition, I xdress to self cope.
