In my country criminals generally kill other criminals, spree killers kill innocent people, i dont care if the crime rate rises if the victims are thieves, drug dealers and murderers.
And we banned most dangerous guns in 1990 or so, its been a while.

Hmm... that phrase bothers me.
Aren't all guns "dangerous"? If not, where do you draw the line of a gun being dangerous or not?

Magazine capacity of 10 vs 11? How about 9? I mean, all you need is 1 bullet in the head to do the trick, so why not a single shot pistol with no magazine or wheel? Do double-barrel pistols count as "too dangerous"? How about ballistics? Limit the speed of bullets to 500fps because anything above that might contribute to hearing loss for nearby bystanders?

See where I'm going with this? There's too much of a grey area for a government to decide what is "best" and "safest" for its citizens. By the end (slowly but surely), even slingshots and blow guns will be banned.

We drew the line at semi automatics obviously, guns that can kill a lot of people in a short amount of time.

Which is kind of funny because it brings us back around full-circle: when did criminals ever follow laws?
Laws only affect (cripple) the innocent; criminals couldn't give less of a crap.

When the time comes to defend yourself, you're going to wish you had a semi-auto.

Its not the same over here, we are an island, people cant just smuggle guns over the border, the nearest countries to us are a long way off.
Your average nutjob spree killer has a lot of trouble accessing the black market, the true criminals who can get their hands on guns use them to kill each other.

the 1911 is a damn good pistol not sure y the hell we switched to using 9mm's

don't get me wrong the 9mm will kill a man but the 45 does it so much better

Because 9mm ammo is a lot cheaper than 45.

you made another comment about 45 does the job better then 9......... I would say the best close range (seeing how we are talking hand guns) round is a .22. I can get 4-5 roungs off in my target zone within a 1 inch group in the time it would take to get 1 round with another weapon for the simple reason that there is basically no recoil. I also like the .22 because not only are the very accurate and fast but I don't really need to worry about them going through a wall or person and into something I do not want to hit. My area of living is populated and I would just rather avoid that. Military wise that does not matter so much if that is all you were thinking of but I wanted to throw that out there incase you also were including personal use.

I forget who said it now but 1911s also come as .22. lol even the .22 version is about $500. If you have a 1911 I believe .22 conversion kits run about $280-350. What that is, is just the slide, barrel, bolt, basically everything but the grib and triger housing.

Also those of you interested in discussion on firearms and the sports invloved with them. vote on the thread located in my sig.

I've always wanted a Kimber, just because they're fucking pretty.

But it doesn't matter because soon we'll all be able to just print guns from our 3d printers.

I read that. yahoo news is something I try to avoid.................... I see one big problem with that. How does one prevent the heat that comes from fireing a round from melting this plastic gun? Seems like a bad idea.

Easy, you don't.

Honestly I think it's retarded to try and make machine guns with them. But, why not print out 20 pistols that can shoot one, maybe two bullets before being useless? Seems like a good investment to me.
