In a bench trial the 7 septons can seperate the charges, a trial by combat not so much.

So whereas if CleganeBowl happened, and hound killed mountain Cersei would be guilty of Incest and Tommen would lose the crown, instead in the bench trial the Septons can find Cersei guilty of regicide and innocent of incest. Or even guilty of Incest with Lancel but innocent of incest with Jaime, as the Lancel thing started after Bobby B was dead that narrative makes sense. Either way Tommen's crown should be safe.

why would they find her innocent if the plan is to rid tommen, though? I said it could go either way. Also, sleeping with Lancel isn't incest, it's adultery. They marry cousins in GoT/ASOIAF, Tywin's own wife was his cousin.

I don't think the plan is to get rid of Tommen, i think its to manipulate him forever. You're right about the incest thing, but as Robert was dead I'm not sure it qualifies as adultery either. I think the plan of the HS is to find her guilty of regicide, convict her by Lancel giving his testimony that she gave him strong wine and instructed him to over serve the king. Then they'll sprinkle in the sex they had to really make the case, even if its not a charge. Which would remove Cersei of all power over the crown.

o lol, the joff slap. Ya i guess that technically qualifies, but it was a lazy slap meant to shame him. Doubt it would even draw a charge IRL.

rickon was dead either way. granted the "game" ramsay played was just for effect, if he was staring at a vale+snow army he would have slit Rickon's throat before the battle started.

I don't think it's the plan either, I just say it's a possibility. High Sparrow played Tommen pretty well, used the King's power to get rid of the trial by combat, this way they can judge cersei rather than zombie clegane scoring an easy win for her innocence. It was adultery, because the charge comes from Lancel's mouth, as he also stands trial. Don't remember what was said exactly in the show, thought Lancel said it had been going on before Robert's death, but maybe I'm remembering wrong. I just know Cersei admits to adultery but continues to deny the incestuous relationship with Jaime.

I'm actually more curious as to what they plan on doing in the next episode at the twins, Jaime is feasting with Walder, which is never good, but his men are all wearing armor.

FTR tho, I originally just wanted to point out that the king of the whitewalkers was an evil guy, and I started getting carried away.

whoever mentioned Rickon should have ran side to side was on point. Thats what i was thinking about the whole time.
That same scene in Apocalypto was pretty good and memorable.
