either way turn yourself in and notify work / anyone who needs to know you'll likely be staying in jail until your postponed court date. Being unfamiliar with your area i cant say if thats a few days or a week. In some inner city jurisdictions that means spending up to 2 weeks.

Basically you likely doubled your punishment from whatever the assault 4 was by adding a misdemeanor to your rap sheet. Also it's not going to look good to any bail bondsmen or judge in the future, not showing up to court is tantamount to a flight risk of sorts depending on the conditions of the bail.
