My friends were on this diet where basically all you could have was protein, no carbs, no sugars, no nothing
It was ridiculous. I did it for a week but it was making me sick because I wasn't getting all of the required nutrients just from meat
I really wouldn't mind trying to figure out a diet with your help one of these days. I'm currently trying to get my pain managed and get over this fucking flu.
All I've been able to eat is bread basically, just plain bread.
if you do a low to no carb diet, they do work and you do not have to get sick.
you eat plenty of meats, you need fat in this diet because you no longer have carbs to burn.
do not cut ALL carbs, cut breads rice noodles potatoes etc... but you can still eat cheese (some cheeses have higher carbs than others but almost every one is still pretty damned low carb) you can also eat veggies, pretty much all of them, even though some are loaded with carbs, these are good carbs, they are slow carbs, you need to cut the fast carbs not the slow ones.
when dieting this way i can drop a lot of weight fast and have. the routine of eating got very monotonous for me at some points, but i would normally eat 2-3 eggs in the morning with some sausage or bacon. lunch daily was usually a decent sized salad with some sort of shredded chicken in it, sometimes i would use one of the single serve starkist tuna pouches instead, they come in different flavors i liked the hickory smoked one a lot. i would normally put about 2 servings of ranch on the salad, even though there were carbs in that it does not add up to a lot overall. then dinner time would come and i would usually have a steak or chicken wings/thighs a lot of times the chicken would be a bbq type chicken which also has carbs but again does not add up to a lot just using some sauce. a side salad with some chopped boiled eggs and crumbled bacon on it.
i would switch some of the stuff up here and there and look for low carb recipes just for a change now and then but that was my normal routine, i would add in flax seed and or sunflower seeds for fiber intake which is SUPER important. once in a while breakfast would be a bowl of fiber one cereal if i felt i wasnt 'regular' enough.
but doing this in this fashion i lost over 75lbs in about 6 months.
be warned though this diet only works if you dont go back to eating the way you were, you can eventually add carbs back in and try to maintain a normal diet but if one day you just go back to carboloading the fat will just pile right back on.
