Aside from that, the passage through the ecliptic plane of the Milky Way is going to be an issue later this year. It will also cause the sun to let off a burst due to the gravitational influence of the flat plane (or dark rift) as we go through it.

the gravitational influence will be slight because nothing will line up on a perfect axis. (except maybe the sun when it passes through)(being the solar systems center of gravity and all)
either way gamma radiation flies thru spaceall everywhere and hits the earth all the time.
