tbh, I can understand this much. She wanted to get away from the situation for a minute and breathe, herself. Gather her thoughts and whatnot. You can't sit there right by her side when there's already paramedics there, it's not like anything you do or don't do is going to help.

Until you're watching a loved one potentially die in front of you, you can't really conceive of the thoughts that go through your head.
