True, but it's still valid. the "= x" is always there in equations like this... it's just that most people tend to leave it out because it's implied and just extra things to write out.

If it's first, try harder.

If it's the second, x is a variable. 5x + 1 = 11 would mean the x = 2, so: 5x + 1 = 11 5(2) + 1 = 11 10 + 1 = 11.

The x could be any letter, too, but most people usually use x because it's just the way most people do it. The letter "e" though is never used as a variable because it is a constant like "pi." Same with "i".

I only explained it 'cause your birthday in your profile says you were born in 1998, which means you might not have hit algebraic math yet.

5- is the first part of the problem and the second part is the number that we are subtracting 5 from.



Same with you 6/... what are we 6/ with? The answer is 2(1+2). It is implied that we are *2 because that's just the rules. so 2*3.

So we are 6/ by 2*3 which is 6/6.



I'm not sure about you but you seem to agree that it isn't 9.
