Glad I occupied your lives for a few hours, math nerds

The answer is 9 but please stop saying that 3(3) is the same thing as 3^3. That only works because it is the same number.

For example, if the equation was..

6/2(1+4)
6/2(5)
3(5)
15.

Not 243, which is 3^5.

who the hell said 3^3 = 3(3) ...?

3^3 = 3*3*3 which isn't the same thing by the way..

everyone only said 3*3

You guys are retards. Parentheses are always first. What have you learned at school?

2 x (2+1)
2 x 3
=
6

6/6
=
1

Okay, Mathematician reporting in.

Everyone answering 1 is a fag and should go back to first grade.

6 / 2 * (1+2) = x
6 / 2 * 3 = x
3 * 3 = x
9 =x

Divisions aren't done after multiplications; they're done at the same time, in a left to right order.

You're an idiot lmao.

I just wanted to say...

If the equation is meant to be 6 over 2(2+1), it would've been written out as 6/(2(2+1)), not 6/2(2+1), which is 6 / 2 * 3 = 3 * 3 = 9 (remember it's P E MD AS or B E MD AS; multiplication and division are the same rank and performed left to right when both are present).

Nope, he/she's right.
