Working in pharmacy we deal with a lot of vegans getting supplements due to their diet.... B12 occurs naturally ONLY in animal tissue. B12 deficiency can lead to tiredness, weakness, nerve issues, and much more. Most vegans are either anemic or they take iron supplements since most irons in the vegan diet are non-heme. Also a lot of vegans that come through get calcium supplements because it takes a lot of food in the vegan diet to get your daily intake of calcium (A recommended 1,000 mg per day)

literally everyone on d2jsp has B12 issue, confirmed

I can understand the belief that animal products are unhealthy. But not all animal products are unhealthy in moderation or in minimal amounts. In fact some of them can be quite good for your health.

I can also understand the desire to reduce animal cruelty. But if you look at a farm that produces plant crops, you can be pretty sure those farmers are doing everything they can to kill every plant and animal that might possibly harm their crop. Poisoning the waterways and destroying animal habitats in the process.

I think its important to accept what a human is (a species of great ape) and our place in the ecosystem. Pain is a naturally occurring sensation that exists in some animals. Get it? it's natural. So where is this idealistic sentiment about animal welfare coming from? Because this sentiment is not seen anywhere else in the natural world. To reject the validity of killing animals (and plants) in order to survive, is to revoke your own humanity.

I'm not saying people shouldn't partake in vegan diets. And I certainly do not like the animal cruelty that occurs in industrial farms. But please keep it in perspective and don't lose touch with reality.
