my main point was just militant atheism. I dislike the idea of imposing anything on anyone. I have no problem with ordinary atheists.
I am quite militant in my Atheistic beliefs because I see religion as directly harmful to society. As I am a logical and rational thinker I cannot deny the ill effects of religion far outweigh the good. The problem doesn't come with believing - people can believe whatever they want. It comes with how that belief creates prejudice, stalls progress and causes thousands of deaths on a daily basis. It makes bold statements about morality and ethics and about how people should behave and live. Ultimately it affects me - whether I believe or not. That is what I take issue with. I'm not imposing my beliefs on others - I am simply resisting something that I don't believe in that has an effect on my life. If anything - I'm the one being imposed upon and I deserve the right to resist.
