Yeah but losing 10-15lbs in <1 month, while I've been at a consistent weight for majority of my adult (and teenage) life? I don't think that's really "nothing" in my opinion.

exercise is your best bet for both of these problems.
I started going back to dance again recently but it isn't really helping, although it does feel good to get some exercise a few times a week.
