If you're not already traveling to these states, and not in the US specifically for a food tour, I would skip them. The southeast US has the most famous BBQ in the country, but they are also some of the worst states to visit or live in. Not worth visiting JUST for some BBQ. You can probably find good BBQ is most major cities in the US. Or better yet, learn to make it yourself and enjoy it at home when you want.

There's a ton of great regional BBQ. Kansas City, Memphis, and St Louis are probably best-known as "cities" for BBQ, whereas Texas and the Carolinas aren't just specific cities, but entire states. My personal favorite is Texas-style, because I prefer a dry rub to sauce on my BBQ. I also make a killer rack of baby backs myself, and have turned out some awesome pork shoulder and tenderloin on my smoker, as well. I have yet to do a good brisket though, as it is such a temperature-sensitive meat to smoke, and my smoker doesn't have the temperature control necessary to do it right. Carolina-style is good stuff, too, although part of what makes that unique is the mustard-based sauces they often use.

BBQ is my personal "SQUIRREL!!!". In fact, I'm smoking a pork tenderloin this afternoon. Going to try my new rub again...it turned out fantastic last time.

Do you guys know any good smokers brand?

I was considering maybe a Webber. I was planning to get a Webber Kettle and use it for slow cooking as well .
