My problem with OP is that he has addiction and that is nobody's fault but his own, but like a typical addict, he blames. In this case he places he blame on doctors who are prescribing drugs to treat and prevent legitimate medical disorders. It is OPs choice to abuse these drugs, not the doctor's recommendation.
People would rather be the victim than assume responsibility for their actions.
Read up on addiction and brain chemistry, and get back to me. People get hooked on drugs prescribed to them for legitimate medical conditions ALL THE TIME. And I'm not absolving the OP of any responsibility. Of course it was his choice to use Xanax. But if you knew how incredibly difficult it is to stop using drugs like Xanax when you suffer from addiction, you might think differently about describing the OP as a "disgusting junkie". Plus, benzos are part of a very small group of drugs of which the withdrawal symptoms can literally kill you.
