why does pokemon go need to do that

Why would they disclose information about an app with constant GPS tracking to law enforcement? Probably to support a new Gestapo.

That's pretty standard boilerplate stuff. Can't imagine there are many apps with any kind of PII without a similar clause just to cover their asses in case of subpoena or whatever

I can't even venture a guess really. Doesn't really have any competition at the moment and is a recognizable enough franchise that I don't think anything similar would unseat it anyways. Could be around awhile if Nintendo supports it properly, though I do hope it dies out sooner rather than later. I live near a college campus, so it will be interesting to see what that looks like when school starts back up.

Previous Niantic game, Ingress, is currently active being released on december 2013, a game that nobody was looking for. Pokemon Go will last more than 10 years.
