I have no comparison to the high-end smartphones myself tho, I've had an Xperia Z1 before (bought it just after release) and this one is incomparably better. Good luck finding a new phone and I hope you'll be satisfied after you get it

Mi5 doesn't have a micro SD slot so it's not an option.

I got a moto x pure recently. It's screen is between the galaxy and note, and has an SD slot, and a pretty decent camera.
