tldr - but when power steering fails thats when the wheel gets too hard to turn, can happen if your battery dies, can happen due to power steering fluid, can happen for many reasons.

I literally drove without power steering for like a year. Be a man. Also, youll get used to accelerating forward a tinnny bit to get started on the turn lol

As for the charge, did you replace it yourself or get a garage to do it? There might b an issue with the install, or a line somewhere couldve got severed. Those old cars can have some pretty annoying electrical breaks.

I took a look at it yesterday and the belt didnt snap, it just wasnt installed properly so it slipped off. But Im still getting this really bad tug on my wheel when I try to park or any time where I am not going over 10mph but am trying to turn the wheel.
