Humans have a bond with canines from the thousands of years we've lived side by side with them, they're basically partners and companions instead of our prey which makes us more emotionally attached to them by default without factoring in having them as pets today.

An emotional bias towards certain animals such as dogs is understandable to have, you also have to factor in that the dog eating festival has many stolen pet dogs along with the strays that are eaten and also all of the dogs are treated so badly before being slaughtered... Its a sad event which should be banned.

Dogs are on the "don't eat" list for me.
