good luck at your interview :p
ph.D is no joke

It's a Ph.D. in business. It's kind of a joke.

hard to become more than an assistant professor with a masters
even associate professors get treated like shit and paid terribly for their expertise, masters degree holders pretty much get robbed.
i taught college with my bachelors degree and was pretty much doing it for free :(

In my experience teaching at a college with a masters attracts a certain kind of person.

The person who doesn't know fuck about their field and barely scraped by. If you have a masters and choose to teach for pennies it's because you finished and still didn't know enough to get a job in industry.

like above said, a bachelors is completely different than a masters

and at several MBA programs I have (quickly) looked through a lot of their full-time profs have masters vs. phds. looking at the university of illinois-chicago faculty list atm.

either way my question is what does the degree op is seeking offer when put up against similar field masters degrees. i have a close cousin who is pursing this field also and just thought i could educate myself a little though fellow jspmates

hmm maybe its a division 1 thing, d3 aint like that from my experience. Of the 6 professors in my program, 2 had doctorates, 3 had masters, and one had a doctorate in an adjacent field and only masters level stuff in criminal justice. All of the masters level profs were actually way more engaging, the doctorate profs (granted were older) were far more boring with their in depth analysis and constant segways.

quality non points
Who cares if a phd in business is not difficult? Is that supposed to be some sort of defense for being a demoralizing person on the internet?
