this is a good video if you care about classic hip hop production bebeb. only need to watch like 5 mins to get the point

played with fruity loops / fl studio a bit so knew about stuff in first 6min (dunno about notes) so didnt really get how its compared to old times - was more mechanic or smtn maybe?

samples and loops aren't really used to make beats anymore. usually it's all one-shot notes individually placed on a midi table or made using an MPC still using one-shots. you don't hear that grainy sound of recording drums from vinyl anymore, so yeah it's more electronic is what i'm saying.
