graduation season is best season
tens of thousands more of people who think they are experts in topics for the rest of their lives
after taking introductory classes in them

I gotta say, I haven't run into many people who were dumb enough to think that they were experts in their field after getting a Bachelor's. I guess maybe I've just been lucky?

When I finished undergrad it was pretty underwhelming. If my plan goes well I'll be doing a dual M.D./Ph.D. so undergrad wasn't very exciting, and once I'm done with that degree I'll be too invested in research for me to consider getting the actual degree to be relevant. My "finished with school" moment will probably come when I take a project to completion for the first time.

I doubt you'll find many people like that. If somebody got all the way through a bachelors in a subject they've usually had enough of a taste of the field to know there are large areas they haven't even touched.

thats a lot of schooling. i used to want to get an MBA but im way too over school, dont have the money for it, and see more value in pursuing my own shit. props to you tho for sticking with it, i definitely respect that. one day i want to go back to school and get a degree in mechatronic engineering, but that is pretty far down the road i imagine

Once you get done with graduate school you generally don't pay for further schooling. There are exceptions, like medical school, but if you're doing any kind of research you aren't going to be paying for it.

I'd like to either head a lab in a pharmaceutical company or do research at a medical school someday so lots of schooling is mandatory.

ya it definitely sounds unavoidable for you. if your just doing research and stuff tho that actually sounds pretty interesting. i had very few business classes that i really found interesting. i honestly feel like most of business school is just learning how to apply jargon to common sense.

Sometimes I consider just quitting science, going into finance, and getting a job at a wal-street firm. I'd probably be bored to tears though.
