I saw a guy on the train home from work today that I went to school with, looking smart in business attire like me. Looked him up on linkedin when I got home and it seems as though he is earning a lot for a 22 y/o, more than me I'd guess.
In that moment I felt a twang of jealousy and the compulsion to outdo him. In a way, that obsessive side of my personality propelled me to work hard and succeed, but I also think it is an unhealthy mindset to care so much about income, status etc.
Do you measure your own success in a similar fickle way to myself?
So you are less successful than a guy you know?
Shit, I know a dude that dumped all his money into Qualcomm in the early 90's.
Fucker made close to 2 mil with a 50 grand investment.
He later added more funds but the stock kept splitting and then there's the dividends too.
He couldn't even tell me how much he made from that.
