on amazon they had saxophones for $3k+

Lol wow i looked it up and if i can get it fixed back to mint i could sell it for 2.2k.... i'll keep it though i need to repractice...

some tips for beginning.

Get a book that has all of the finger positions and all different types of scales. I'd suggest ACTUALLY GOING TO A STORE and talking to a professional about some books and scores you might want to buy to learn how to play.

Many instruments have proficiency books made up by professionals that can teach you the basics to what the pros do. If you can do everything in those books you could play pretty much any written score in any key easily with a bit of practice and sight read very well.

I'd get a instructor for an hour period for once every 2 weeks or once a month if you actually practice... he will set you assignments and help you out. this is really all you need to do to work towards being a professional... if you really want it.

maybe join a community band as well for some experience once you get basics down

back in high school i played a mean saxophone, had a thousand dollar tenor and alto

i was very lazy with my practice, it was so much effort, they said i could have easily been professional with some work but its so boring so i stopped playing

I played the sax for a year or two, but it wasn't my thing. I like instruments of which you can get the basics down with only an hour of practice per week.
