if you've already watched the big american classics (friday the 13th, nightmare on elm street, the thing, psycho, etc) then look into the asian movies.

Backtrack is a decent new movie, thriller kind of scary

Watched this last night in part because of the high praise and thought it was lame and the filming was to dark, couldnt see shit half the time. The kid was so annoying that I found myself hoping the monster would hurry up and get him. If the main chars are so unlikeable your rooting for the demon, the movie has issues. The ending seemed abrupt and unresolved, and not to put out spoilers, but killing the dog felt like a cheap ploy.
