Awesome idea kayeto. I would really like to incorporate roles like Tanking, DPS and Healers/Support but I don't know how that will effect solo players. Maybe we can make dungeons specifically for team oriented raiding.

I really like this.

Also make bosses have weaknesses to certain abilities/skills that certain classes have so that way you have to team up as well.

That looks really great, I would LOVE to feel that d1 game play again! with a bit more walk/run speed of course! :)

even though I'm a WoW player, I am not really a fan of the tank/heal/dps format. Everyone can be dps, but still have a way to interact.

Disabling spells (cc) is another way to make this work. If each class has the ability to "freeze" 1 mob for 10 seconds and that ability has a 10 second cooldown, they just have to coordinate who will use their freeze on which mob. 2 people can take out 3 tough mobs together as long they all attack the same mob and avoid the frozen ones.

Will some mobs make noise before they're detected? Maybe you can't see them in the dark
but it would be nice to hear tha zombies footsteps.

I like this, it could be implemented very simply and still allow solo players to do there thing.

That'd be unique, a sort of stealth system. Lighter gear = less chance of being detected

Yeah, thinking of the early FPS games like say Rogue Spear. Walking in snow made more noise and left temporary footprints. And sprinting
was even louder than walking. I got a lot of kills by hearing people running around in rooms upstairs or opening/closing doors within my vicinity.

Creating smart AI is a big part of what I want to do and have lots of experience doing.

To maintain the atmosphere and immersion foot steps from monsters and other sounds are going to be in for sure.
