The ease of use of the OS and not having to worry about whether or not your phone is going to get the latest update to the OS is what does it for me, really. The fractious nature of Androids makes it way too much of a giant pain in the ass, imo. I just want to use a fucking phone.
The HTC One X, HTC One S, Galaxy S3, Galaxy S2 are all going to be receiving the latest Android OS 4.1 (Jelly Bean) in the coming fall. The Galaxy Nexus has already received the Jelly Bean update. Not to mention, When the iPhone 3 was updated to the new iOS, half of the features didn't work.
As you can see, "
not having to worry about whether or not your phone is going to get the latest update to the OS" is hardly a reason to choose the iPhone over an Android/WP8 phone, the iPhone loses in nearly every single category. Using that as an excuse is just another way of saying "
I didn't do my research, so I'm just going to just go with the one that every other clueless hippie is getting".
Secondly, the "ease of use" is already debunked, because once you get past all of the basic functions, there are plenty of more intricate functions that an iPhone simply cannot do, due to the lack of freedom Apple allows its users -- which explains why the iPhone has the largest population of users who need to "jailbreak" their phones, while Android/WP8 users do not. In the end, you'll realize that in order to get the full functionality out of your smartphone, you're going to have to jump through even more hoops, which completely defeats the argument that iPhones are "easy to use".
On the surface, the iPhone might seem more streamlined, but once you've used an Android phone, there is no question about which has more functionalities.
