Its not the rotation of the earth that would make the ball fly backwards from a convertible rather the air resistance on something with so small a mass if I drove in the opposite direction and threw it upwards the ball would not fly forward

1000 mph on it axis, 66,600 mph around the sun, 450, 000 mph around the galaxy - so you think that's a "small" amount of resistance? Funny how no one has measured it , you probably assumed gravity is taking care of all that, gravity must be pretty strong?
