Working out can definitely help, but the key is to be the kind of person you wanna be. You wish you were swole as fuck? Go to the gym. You wish you weren't so antisocial? Start doing social stuff (join some club or sports team, start going out during the weekends etc.).
If you're comfortable with who you are, you will feel more confident.
