The 'theory' of evolution attempts to explain the natural phenomenon that IS evolution. Evolution is essentially regarded as fact almost unequivocally throughout the scientific community and largely in the religious community. The theory of evolution is not the theory that evolution happens, we know it happens, it's the theory of how it happens.

Moreover a scientific 'theory' is not simply an idea someone threw together because it looks right. It is the body of work that contains laws, hypotheses and corroborating evidence to support the explanation it is attempting to give.

Honestly I get so angry when I hear people like you talk as if you actually know shit because you listened to some bible-bashing fuckwit creationist preacher who knows only slightly more than you do about the subject. Do some independent research. type 'evolution is only a theory' into a search engine and read some of the results. Yeah, I think, if anything, the argument for Christianity would be that humans didn't evolve. There are far too many creatures with very obvious trails of evolution.
