Yes, it is. But not mindless. It's conscious self indulgence. It's putting yourself first and being intolerant of the weak that drain you of your resources without returning anything and those who are harmful to you.
It's one reason why I'm not a member anymore. I believe there are many people who need our help and we should give it to them regardless of whether it will benefit us or not.

Satanists do not view their intolerance of the weak to be irrational. They believe in a kind of 'Survival of the fittest' philosophy. If someone of equal or better ability than you or someone with potential who is willing to work hard for what they want asks you for help then you should give it. It is only the weak and the stupid who they are intolerant toward. But not intolerant in the way of oppressing or attacking them. They simply will not expend their resources to help them.

As for paying no regard to those around you - that would pretty much be antithesis to the philosophy. Everyone is important in the effects they can have on you and your careful evaluation of each person in your life is essential to your forming of social relations in order that they lift you up and not bring you down. The Third Satanic Sin of solipsism explains this well -

"Solipsism—Can be very dangerous for Satanists. Projecting your reactions, responses and sensibilities onto someone who is probably far less attuned than you are. It is the mistake of expecting people to give you the same consideration, courtesy and respect that you naturally give them. They won’t. Instead, Satanists must strive to apply the dictum of “Do unto others as they do unto you.” It’s work for most of us and requires constant vigilance lest you slip into a comfortable illusion of everyone being like you. Because I did truly believe in the philosophy of Satanism. The theatrics are part of the teachings of that philosophy. My belief in that philosophy was not theatrics but theatrics are part of Satanic ritual.

I consider myself an ex-Satanist because as I emotionally matured my beliefs and philosophy changed until they no longer matched that of Satanism.
